Hey there,

Saw you were saying that you had some troubles finding the Beehive kilns. Although I have not seen any referenced near Galice this site shows some near endicott:

I read your section on the Lava Beds National Monument. I've been there twice and must back up the fact that it's infrequently visited. Its remote but well worth the trip. Some of the tubes are over a mile long!

Modoc county is almost entirely crusted with Volcainc rock, the National Monument is a unique place where the rock remains unchanged and at the surface. http://geology.about.com/library/bl/maps/califmapbig.jpg
