This was it. After months of preparation, I was finally ready to begin my descent into the Grand Canyon in search of a lost city said to lie somewhere in its depths. I stood at the top of Tanner trail, a seldom-used route into the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon. It was time to begin my hike.
